Avenger Pilot - trained at US Naval Air Station Ft. Lauderdale beginning August 1944, completed training in October 1944
while at this base he trained with Torpedo Squadron 100 - November 1944
April 1945 - USS Windham Bay
Okinawa Gunto Operation, April 29 to 1 June 1945
Served aboard the USS Makin Island
Torpedo Squadron 99 - VT-99, May 1945 (possibly with Paul Newman)
Assigned to Squadron 91 - September 1945
USS Salamaua
Torpedo Squadron 7 - April 1946
August 1946 - Injured at a hospital in Pearl Harbor (T.H.)
